Dorm Room Essentials – Storage
by roopa swaminathan
Hi everybody!
It’s ‘Moving to Dorm Room’ season soon and SPACE and STORAGE are the two key words that will come into play when your child moves from their super-comfortable, there-is-a-space-for-everything, bedroom to a super-cramped, share-a-room-with-a-roommate inky-dinky space for the next four years of their lives.
From personal experience I can tell you – it will NOT be easy. When the SPACE you move into is smaller than a bathroom – you need STORAGE. And you need to come up with creative ways to make room for all your essentials and let’s face it – the non-essentials – as well.
So, you make it work. You find storage under the bed. Over the door. All those little nooks and crannies. Wheelable wardrobe racks. Wherever and however you see a way to increase storage for all those books, tech stuff, clothes, shoes, jewelry that you have – you make it work.
Again, here at roopakiyatra we have pored through storage ideas for dorms and come up with this curated list of clever and smart and affordable ideas to make your child’s dorm feel – if not a a palace – then, at least super comfortable!
